William (Bill) Herbert Corbin St. John of Short Hills passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on July 6, 2012. Born on the campus of The Choate School in Wallingford, CT, Bill was a life-long educator and caring friend to all who knew him. Bill always made time to listen to others and offer sound advice.
A graduate of Choate, Yale, and Harvard, Bill was a teacher and an administrator at The Hill School in Pottstown, PA, The Choate School like his father, Wardell before him, and at The Brimmer and May School in Chestnut Hill, MA.
In addition, Bill was an Assistant Director at Camp Pasquaney , the Director of Camp Onaway, both on Newfound Lake, in Hebron, NH; and in recent, years, Bill became an active substance-abuse counselor at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, to help others, after overcoming his own challenges.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan, and the families of sons Rob and Pete, and Joan’s son Tim and daughter Liz.
