William G. Murdock, 63, of Livingston, formerly of Lake Mohawk, passed away on July 3, 2013. Born and raised in Newark, Bill lived in Livingston, before moving to Sparta after getting married. He had returned to Livingston several years ago. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Rexhide Automotive in Parsippany.
Bill earned his MBA from Rutgers, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and Captain of the Chess Team. He was an avid blood donor at the New York Blood Center, he volunteered at the Kessler Institute and the Andover SubAcute and Rehabilitation Center. Bill was a naturalist. He loved the flora and fauna of New Jersey. He was an avid historian and philosopher who embraced all religions. He was an avid reader on all subjects, and was genuinely interested in everyone he met. Bill’s philosophy was peace, and he would greet people with “peace”. He appreciated mellow time.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Helen, his wife Sandy, brother James Murdock, and sister Betty Fee Langendoen; Bill is survived by his brother Joseph and his wife Mary, sister Marianne Grigoli and her husband Anthony; step son Christopher Roberts; step daughter in law Stacey Lannon; step granddaughters Kirsten Sandra and Hannah Nicole; nieces Susanne, Michelle and Marianne Grigoli and Erin Murdock; and nephews Joseph Grigoli, Ryan and Adam Murdock.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10am at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel 100 Whippany Rd., Whippany. Cremation will be private. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany.
