Vincent Paul Lampariello passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He was 91. Funeral services will be held from 9-10:00am on Friday, November 16th at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home 1100 Pine Ave, Union followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Ave, Springfield. Vincent was born in Newark and lived for many years in Maplewood before moving to Springfield. He attended Seton Hall University where he received a degree in Chemistry. Since our country was at war at the time, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Pacific on the Island of New Guinea and later in the Philippines. At the wars end, he was stationed in Japan in the Occupation Army. After returning home, Vincent was employed at the Celanese Corporation as a chemist and worked in that capacity for over forty years. Vincent loved gardening and was successful in growing enough vegetables to last from Spring to Fall. He enjoyed cooking and prepared gourmet meals for family and friends. Often he pursued this culinary activity to the music of Verdi and Puccini. He had season tickets to the Metropolitan Opera House and attended performances there for many years.

Vincent is survived by Emma, his wife of 63 years and his beloved son Mark, and his wife Lynn. Vincent was a quiet and gentle man who was well loved and will be sorely missed. “Goodnight Sweet Prince”.
