Loving Father

Thomas J. Kelly, 87, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2015.

Tom was born in Orange, NJ and spent most of his life in West Orange until moving to Florham Park in 1986. After graduating from West Orange High School in 1945, he joined the navy and served in the South Pacific in the Medical Corps.

In 1950, he married Ethel Matthews and they raised three children. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 1955. After graduation, he joined Ernst & Young where he became a partner and worked for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethel M. Kelly (nee Matthews), father of Thomas J. Kelly, (Cindy), Christine Auriemma-Cook, (Steve), David M. Kelly, (Judi), 5 grandchildren and a sister Mary Ellen Murray.

In addition to being a great father, Tom was an accomplished worldly man with a tremendous knowledge of life and matters of business. He was a mentor to many.

An avid golfer throughout his life he was a member at Montclair Golf Club in NJ and Ballen Isles in West Palm Fla., where he became a Club Champion.

A Memorial Gathering will be Monday, 4 to 8 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10am at Holy Family Church, 35 Orchard Rd., Florham Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’s name may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
