Theresa Emilia (Stamm) Smith passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:15 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, N.J. Interment will follow at St Rose of Lima Cemetery. Friends may visit on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, N.J. Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, James Francis Smith, in 2004. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Theresa and Robert Maul, Anne Marie and Jack O’Connor, and Barbara and Arthur Scureman, 7 loving grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her 4 sisters and 2 brothers, with whom she shared a lifetime of adventure and love. Theresa was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Henry and Agatha Klingler Stamm on January 24, 1929. She was a graduate of St. Angela Hall Academy, Brooklyn, N.Y. and The Scudder School, N.Y.C. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as an executive secretary in the aviation department of Standard Vacuum Oil Company, N.Y.C. After raising her family, she became Director of Transportation for the American Red Cross, Millburn/Short Hills Chapter. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Rose of Lima Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister and visitor to the homebound for St. Rose of Lima and St. James the Apostle Church, Springfield.

Theresa resided for 53 years in Springfield prior to moving to Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, N.J. in 2009. Her family is forever grateful to her wonderful and devoted caregivers at Fellowship Village. Theresa will be deeply missed and always remembered and loved by her family and friends.
