~~Thelma Rizzo, 90, of Millburn and most recently Juniper Village in Chatham passed away at Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehab on November 30th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills, on Saturday, December 6th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Friday, December 5th from 4 to 8pm.
Born and raised in Newark where she graduated from West Side High School, Thelma moved to Millburn in 1950. She had lived at Juniper Village for the past 4 years. A homemaker, she later held clerical positions at Wefferling, Berry & Co and Home Insurance Company, both in Millburn.
Thelma was the beloved wife of 68 years to Nicholas, Sr.. She was the loving mother of Vita Rizzo, Nicholas, Jr. and his wife Brenda, and the late Celia Ann. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons, Robert, Sean, Andrew and Benjamin, 3 great grandchildren and her dear brother Frank Visicaro and his wife Josephine.
