Terry Shannon, 89, died at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston on Sunday December 2, 2012. She was a resident of Livingston for the past ten years. She was born in Clones, County Monagan, Ireland and came to the US at age five, in 1928 and was raised in Astoria, Queens. There she met the love of her life, Ed and raised her family in Brooklyn, NY. Terry also lived in Toms River from 1982-2002. She will always be remembered for her strong will.
Previously deceased are her husband Ed and a daughter Patty Linkowitz. Loving Mother of; Ed Shannon and his wife Margie of Cedar Knolls, Peggy Toscano and her husband Frankie of Maybrook, NY, Dorothy and her late husband Gerard of Staten Island, Kevin and his wife Carol of Ridgefield, CT, and a son-in-law Nick Linkowitz of Burke, VA. Beloved Grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 8. Previously deceased are her five siblings. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston on Wednesday December 5, at 10am. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River. Friends may visit at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Those who wish may donate in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis TN 38105.
