Susan Gruber, 61, passed peacefully on October 21, 2013 at her home in Union. Born in Elizabeth, Susan has been a life long resident of Union. Susan was a health aide for Visiting Angels and Helping Hands for 3 years, prior to that she was a customer service representative for Allstate Insurance Company for 29 years. She loved animals, volunteering at local hospitals and baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies. Susan is pre-deceased by her parents John F. Jr. and Helen Gruber. She is survived by her sister Barbara Santos of Clifton, her niece Danielle & Scott Miller of Hackettstown and her nephew Jonathan Santos of Morristown, a great-nephew Jethro, also survived by several cousins and friends, and her two dogs, Simone and Champ and her cat Cookie.
