Stephen Matysek Sr, 88 of Mountainside, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Care One Center in Morristown, NJ. Born in Newark, a former resident of Irvington, Stephen has resided in Mountainside since 1963. He was a Navy Veteran (Construction Battalion) during WWII in the Normandy Invasion and also in the Okinawa Occupation. Stephen worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer for 44 years, retiring in 2000 Afterwards he became a registered representative for First Investor Corp.. He was a member and past Commander of the George Pietrucha American Legion Post of Irvington and was active in Scouting, Troop 177, Mountainside. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Henry and Joseph, sisters, Mary Migalski and Virginia Walsch. Stephen was the loving father of his sons, Kenneth, Stephen, David, Paul and his wife Joyce; devoted grandfather of Hannah, Michael & Gianna, also survived by his former wife Virginia Klemens.
