Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Brother
Siegmund Ossowski, 87, of Summit, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his family home, surrounded by love.
Siegmund was born on June 4, 1927 in Drozdowo, Poland. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig and Marianne (nee Wiencowski) Ossowski.
He came to the United States in the 1950’s and spent over 40 years in Fort Lee, NJ, raising his family.
Siegmund enjoyed reading the newspaper and was “Mr. Fix it” and could fix just about anything. He loved watching soccer, fishing (where he had a lot of luck) and spending time with his grandchildren. Siegmund also liked dancing, especially with his wife and daughter on many occasions.
He is survived by his wife, Laura G. Ossowski. He is also survived by his daughter, Laura L. Hughes and her husband Matt. He was the grandfather to Timothy Siegmund Hughes and Evelyn Laura Hughes. He was a very genuine, big hearted, forgiving and hardworking person who will be missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley and Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 587 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901. An interment will follow in Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA, 50340-2018.
