Proverbs 31: 25-27:   She is clothed with strength & dignity; she laughs without fear of the future. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household, and does not eat the bread of the idleness.

Saint Anise Philemon, 91 yrs., old of Union, NJ was born on May 11, 1928 and passed away on April 10, 2020. Funeral services are private. The viewing is on April 24, 2020 from 10am-12 pm followed by a private homegoing ceremony. There will be a celebration of her life that will be announced at a later date.

Saint Anise Philemon was born in Marchand Dessalines but was raised in Hatte-Chevreau 2eme section communal of Marchand Dessalines, Haiti.  She ran a farming business where she cultivated and sold rice & other produce in her community of Hatte- Chevreau. She also worked as a caretaker. She raised a tremendous family who now all reside across the United States and France. In 1986, she immigrated to the US to join her children and first settled in Irvington, NJ, then moved to West Orange, NJ & finally to Union, NJ in 2010. During her time in the US, she helped raise all of her beloved grandchildren and instilled a love & pride for their shared Haitian culture.

Saint-Anise worked tirelessly to invest her time, energy, love & devotion into her family & community. She had a passion for gardening, loved to watch wrestling and General Hospital and Basketball. She was very devoted to her faith in God. She was known for her infectious laugh, humor, and her compassion for people. She leaves her children a legacy of love and respect.

Saint Anise was the beloved mother of five (5) adult children and help raised 3 additional children as her own – Serge Jean-Noël and his wife, Rosemarie Benoit Jean-Noel, Pierre R. Jean-Noel and his wife, Adeline Jean-Noel, Rigaud Jean-Noel and his wife Marise Jean-Noel, Ertha Jean-Noel Belton and her husband Joel Belton, Remy Jean-Noel and wife Nadege Jean-Noel, Roland Jean-Noel, Renald Jean-Noel Rogette Philemon and Renaud Estime, Jocelyne Colon.  She was also the cherished grandmother of  Yvens Jean-Noel, Stanley Jean-Noel, Marie L. Jean-Noel, Vanessa Jean Noel, Ralph Jean-Noel, Kimberlyne Belton, Aamirlyne Belton,  Darrell Jean-Noel, Jonathan Jean-Noel, Davis Jean-Noel, Nahum Jean-Noel, Kaitlin Jean-Noel, Nedgine Jean-Noel, Johannes Jean-Noel, Bergeline Estime, Jimmy Estime, Cynthia Castor, Patricia Noel, and her great-grandchildren, Sabrina A. Jean-Noel, Sean L. Jean-Noel, and Jeremiah Jean-Noel in addition, to  her siblings-  Noncilia Philemon, Clairmilia Philemon, Joseph Philemon, Theanna Philemon  Yves Philemon, and nieces and nephews including but not limited to, Yvrose Philemon,  Wilson Jean-Noel, Sala Joseph, Lucilia Elisma, Oddette Alcine, Jean Robert Elisma, Luckner Maxi, Roland Saint Vilien, and Lamartine Philemon.

Matthew 22:37-40: ³⁷ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’³⁸ This is the first and greatest commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

She will be missed greatly by her community, family and friends.

Saint Anise Philemon, âgée de 91 ans d’Union, NJ est née le 11 mai 1928 et est décédée le 10 avril 2020. Les services funéraires sont privés. La visite aura lieu le 24 avril 2020 de 10 h à 12 h, suivie d’une cérémonie privée de bienvenue. Il y aura une célébration de sa vie qui sera annoncée à une date ultérieure.

Saint Anise Philemon est née à Marchand Dessalines mais a été élevée à Hatte-Chevreau, la 2eme section communale de Marchand Dessalines, Haïti. Elle dirigeait une entreprise agricole où elle cultivait et vendait du riz et aussi d’autres produits dans sa ville natale, Hatte-Chevreau. Elle a également travaillé comme concierge. Élevé d’une famille formidable qui réside maintenant à travers les États-Unis et la France; elle a immigré aux États-Unis en 1986 pour rejoindre ses enfants. D’abord, elle s’est installée à Irvington, NJ, puis a déménagé à West Orange, NJ et enfin à Union, NJ en 2010. Pendant son temps aux États-Unis, elle a aidé à élever tous ses bien-aimés petits-enfants et inculqué un amour et une fierté pour leur culture haïtienne partagée.

Saint-Anise a travaillé sans relâche pour investir son temps, son énergie, son amour et son dévouement dans sa famille et sa communauté. Elle avait une passion pour le jardinage. Elle aimait regarder la lutte, General Hospital et le basket-ball. Elle était très dévouée à sa foi en Dieu. Saint-Anise était connue pour son rire contagieux, son humour et sa compassion pour les gens. Elle laisse à ses enfants un héritage d’amour et de respect.

Saint Anise était la mère bien-aimée de cinq (5) enfants adultes et a aidé à élever trois (3) enfants supplémentaires comme les siens -Serge Jean-Noël et son épouse, Rosemarie Benoit Jean-Noel, Pierre R. Jean-Noel et son épouse, Adeline Jean- Noel, Rigaud Jean-Noel et son épouse Marise Jean-Noel, Ertha Jean-Noel Belton et son mari Joel Belton, Remy Jean-Noel et son épouse Nadege Jean-Noel, Roland Jean-Noel, Renald Jean-Noel Rogette Philemon et Renaud Estime, Jocelyne Colon.

Elle était également la grand-mère chérie de Yvens Jean-Noel, Stanley Jean-Noel, Marie L. Jean-Noel, Vanessa Jean Noel, Ralph Jean-Noel, Kimberlyne Belton, Aamirlyne Belton, Darrell Jean-Noel, Jonathan Jean-Noel, Davis Jean-Noel, Nahum Jean-Noel, Kaitlin Jean-Noel, Nedgine Jean-Noel, Johannes Jean-Noel, Bergeline Estime, Jimmy Estime, Cynthia Castor, Patricia Noel et ses arrière-petits-enfants, Sabrina A. Jean-Noel, Sean L. Jean -Noel et Jeremiah Jean-Noel. En plus, de ses frères et sœurs- Noncilia Philemon, Clairmilia Philemon, Joseph Philemon, Theanna Philemon Yves Philemon, et nièces et neveux, y compris mais sans s’y limiter, Yvrose Philemon, Wilson Jean-Noel, Sala Joseph, Lucilia Elisma, Oddette Alcine, Jean Robert Elisma, Luckner Maxi, Roland Saint Vilien et Lamartine Philemon.

Matthieu 22:37-40   Jésus lui répondit: Tu aimeras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, et de toute ta pensée. C’est le premier et le plus grand commandement.  Et voici le second, qui lui est semblable: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même

Sa perte sera durement ressentie par sa communauté, sa famille et ses amis.
