Ruth Stevens Carter-Longtime Millburn/Short Hills Resident
Ruth Stevens Carter, formerly of Short Hills, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014. Born in Newark, Ruth was raised in Millburn. She graduated from Millburn High School and attended Kent State University and Rutgers-Newark. Ruth was a librarian at the Millburn Public Library and later worked in a real estate office in South Orange before retiring. She was a member of the Community Congregational Church in Short Hills. she was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and traveling. Ruth was pre-deceased by her husband, John Carter (2013). She is survived by her children, Anne Carter Henoch and her husband Gregg of Cranford, NJ, and Douglas Carter of Danville, VT; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Henoch and his wife Jamie, Lindsay Temple and her husband Shayne, Sarah Lovejoy-Carter and her husband Nick Shirman, and Molly Lovejoy-Carter and her fiance Jesse Picha; and great grandchidlren, Ryleigh Henoch, Declan, Nolan and Everett Temple, and Carter Shirman.
