Ruth M. Bonner, 93, of Union, New Jersey passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Village Point Rehabilitation & Healthcare, Monroe Township, NJ from complications of COVID-19.
She was the daughter of the late Heinrich Mehrer and Rose Mehrer of Irvington NJ. Beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Bonner. Living in Union, NJ before moving to Monroe several years ago.
Ruth worked as a secretary for AXA-EQUITABLE for 18 years and also owner of Acme Rubber Stamp Works before retiring. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a longtime member of The First Congregational Church of Irvington, NJ. She truly embraced the love of life, the beach and travel both in the US and Europe traveling with her husband and later with friends. She loved to gather with loved ones and family and enjoyed a wide circle of friends both new and from her grammar school days. She took great pride in always choosing a hand written note in lieu of a digital thank you.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Arthur Bonner and grandson Matthew Bierman. She was the loving mother of Diane Lewis and husband Barry Russo, Lori Bierman and husband Ken Bierman, cherished grandmother of Charles Lewis, Leslie Lewis, and Caitlyn Cordova and husband Alex Cordova and great-grandmother of Riley and Hazel. She leaves behind many relatives, nieces and nephews, extended family in So. Wales, UK. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Magnet Alumni Scholarship in memory of Matthew Bierman. Share in the message box Matthew Bierman. Be sure to use Magnet Alumni Scholarship.
