Ruth Hildegard (Schwarz) Kurz of Fort Lauderdale, FL died on Sunday 6/10/2012 at the age of 91.
Born in West Prussia Ruth, immigrated to the United States in 1923 with her family and resided in Philadelphia, PA until her marriage. Then resided in Mountainside, NJ and finally in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Ruth graduated Franklin High School and Jules E. Mastbaum Vocational School: Commercial Art Class of 1939, Philadelphia PA. She was on the faculty of The Berte Fashion Studio in Philadelphia and was a draftsperson/defense worker with the Philadelphia Naval Yard.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Adolph G. Kurz, and is survived by her children, Arthur Kurz , Marlene Kurz and Robert Kurz. She is also survived by her grandchildren,Joshua Kurz, Sarah Kurz, Ashley Kurz Caplan and Jason Kurz. Plus her great-grandchildren, Sofia and Devon. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister, Arno Berthold George Schwarz, Herta Margarete Hermann and Udo Adelebert Schwarz.
Ruth was involved in her church and also enjoyed giving art lessons to her friends and family. As a member of the Deutscher Club of Clark she continued to enjoy her German heritage. She was a young generous spirit at 91, always inspiring others and had a great outlook on life, loving every moment of it.
