Ruth Anne Connolly, 88, (nee Blake), of Watchung, NJ formerly of Brooklyn, Staten Island and Naples, FL. Born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY, Ruth married John (Jack) Connolly in 1963 and moved to Staten Island, where they raised their family until retiring to Naples. FL in 1991. Ruth returned to the Northeast in 2016 to be closer to her family. She attended elementary school at St. Anselm School & high school at Bishop McDonell, graduating with honors. Ruth was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Charles Church in Staten Island, NY and later at St. John the Evangelist in Naples, Fla. Ruth lived a quiet life, enjoying cups of tea with her close friends, growing roses, knitting, needlepoint and reading. During her career Ruth held many executive secretarial positions, ending with the Federal Home Loan Bank in New York City, where she retired after 20 years. After retirement Ruth and Jack enjoyed cruising and looked forward to annual visits from their grandchildren. Ruth is pre-deceased by her husband, John Connolly, she is survived by her daughter Maureen Carini and her husband John as well as her son, Kevin, grandmother of Olivia, Lauren and D.J. Carini, Ruth is pre-deceased by her siblings, Helen M. Logan and Edwin R. Blake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 85 Washington Ave. Chatham, NJ. Visiting hours, Friday, November 23rd, from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham, NJ.
