Ruth Ann Sabonya, of Chatham Township, passed away at her home, in the loving arms of her husband of 55 years, Louis Sabonya and her daughter, Jaime Sabonya on January 16, 2021. She was 77.
Born in Johnstown, PA to the late George and Virgie Weber, Ruth was a graduate of Blacklick Township High School. She married Louis on June 19, 1965 at St. Charles Church in Twin Rocks, PA. They lived in Newark before moving to Chatham in 1967. She worked for 25 years as an administrative assistant at the Township of Chatham Municipal Building and was a long-time parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in Chatham Township. She also volunteered at the Library of the Chathams.
Ruth loved to cook, bake, read, sew and most of all, spend time with family and friends. She talked to her brother, Leonard Weber, every day. She also loved shopping with her daughter. She was generous and kind, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own.
In addition to her husband, daughter and brother, Ruth is survived by her loving son, Christopher Sabonya of Houston, TX and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
