Rose Patricia Nacion-Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother.
Rose Paticia Nacion, (nee Landolfi), 92, passed peacefully at her home in Springfield surrounded by her family on January 14, 2015. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. Rose has been living in Springfield since 1983. Rose was an accounting clerk wih American Can Company in Jersey City. She loved to cook for her family, reading and volunteering at New Eyes for the Needy in Short Hills. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 48 years, retired Batallion Chief with the Jersey City Fire Department, Vernon F. Nacion and her two sisters, Jean Moretti, Margaret Cocciardi. Rose is survived by her two daughters, Verna Balchunas and her husband Robert J. and Rosemary Arnone and her husband Russell, her two sisters, Vicki VanJura and Mary Worster, 6 grandchildren, David Balchunas and his wife Jean, Rosemary Balchunas, Rebecca Kranzier and her husband Kevin, Robert Balchunas and his wife Katie, Jessica Hughes and her husband Dave and Gina Arnone and her husband Chris Soto, 9 great-granchildren, Elizabeth, Caroline, Rachel, David, William, Brian, Ella, Owen, Lola, with one on the way. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by Maxine, Jackie, Olga and Flo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills, NJ. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 16 from 4 to 8 pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
