Robert V.C. Roché, 70, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home.
Robert was born on January 17, 1946 in Montclair, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil E. and Edith (nee Munson) Roché.
Robert was a 1964 graduate of College High at Montclair State University. He furthered his education at Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. While at Brown, he played on the golf team for three years and served as Captain in his senior year. In 1972, he graduated from Princeton University with a Master of Engineering and received his Master of Business Administration from Farleigh Dickson University in 1983.
He worked and traveled the world designing power plants for Foster & Wheeler for 35 years and then Burns & Roe for 5 years before retiring. He was a member of (ASME) American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In his spare time, Bob loved golfing. He was a dedicated family man, kind and compassionate father and husband who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Karen M. Roché. He was the father of son, Richard V.C. Roché, daughter, Catherine K. Ladd and husband Bruce, son, Matthew W. Roché and wife Sharon. He was the cherished grandfather of Christopher and Madeline Ladd and Evan and Ryan Roché. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Shapiro and husband hers Barry, and their daughter Laura.
A visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Congregational Church, 40 S Fullerton Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042. Cremation will be private.
