07/19/1967 - 05/10/2013

Robert J. Valinoti, Jr., of Chatham, passed away on May 10, 2013. He was 45 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Bobby and Penny Valinoti, Rob was raised on Staten Island. He began his working life at the young age of 15, and by age 19 Rob became a derivatives broker at Euro Brokers in downtown New York City where he remained for 25 years. Rob was also a survivor of both World Trade Center attacks. Rob always gave of himself and was there to help out, and returned to work the day after the 9/11 attack to search for missing friends.

Rob enjoyed golfing and was an active member of the Fairmount Country Club in Chatham. He always enjoyed the finer things in life, particularly good wine and gourmet food. Above all, Rob enjoyed being with his family, whether they were visiting the beach house on Long Beach Island or celebrating the holidays at home.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Tobey (nee Pino) Valinoti, daughter Taylor and son Robert III, parents Penny and Robert Sr., and brother Jamie.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Rob’s Life on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:30am at the Hamilton Park Hotel, 175 Park Avenue, Florham Park, N.J. A Celebrant Service will begin promptly at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rob’s memory to Heartworks Organization c/o Brooke Healey, 19 Route 202, Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920.
