Robert J. Matta
Robert J. Matta, 68, of Wayne, NJ, passed peacefully on June 15, 2017. Born and raised in Newark, Robert lived in Maplewood & Union, before moving to Wayne many years ago. Robert served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following the service, he was an electrical worker for PSE&G in Clifton for 35 years. Robert also loved horse racing. Robert is pre-deceased by his parents, Charles & Elizabeth Lennert Matta. He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Jeannine), Matta of Union, NJ, Richard (Kathy) Matta of Silver Springs, CA., & Edward (Patti) Matta of San Diego, CA., and his nieces and nephews, Richard Matta of Myrtle Beach, SC., Jeff Matta of Caldwell, NJ, Kimberly, Kenneth & Kaitlyn Matta all of Union, NJ. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union, NJ. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Visiting hours, Friday, June 16, from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home.
