Robert J. “Bob” Kasiski, 87, of Whippany, New Jersey passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, May 02, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.

Robert was born May 19, 1928 in Garfield, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. and Lillian E. (nee Setlock) Kasiski.

Robert was a graduate of Morristown High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob worked as a telephone installer for Lucent Technologies for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 155, Polish American Club, Whippany Fire Company where he was the past-president from 1969-1971. He was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church where he was the Chair of the Cemetery Committee.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed trout fly fishing, fluke fishing, bowling and woodworking. He loved spending time with his extended family and especially his grandchildren. He was a selfless individual and was always willing to help out whomever.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen D. Kasiski. He was the father of Robert and wife Eileen of Mansfield, MA, daughter, Laurie A. Perkalis and husband Stephen of Califon, NJ, and son, Steven J. Kasiski of Whippany. He was the cherished grandfather of six grandchildren; Matthew, Ryan and Sarah Kasiski and Nicholas, Russell and Emily Perkalis. In addition, he is survived by his brother, John E. (Jack) Kasiski, aunt, Irene Molitoris and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd in Whippany on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert’s name to the Whippany Fire Company Building Fund, 440 Route 10 West, Whippany NJ 07981.
