~~Richard Edward Schroeder, 95, of Rockville, MD, formerly of Plainfield, NJ, passed peacefully on October 2, 2016. Born and raised in Irvington where he graduated from Irvington High School. He lived in Plainfield, NJ, for 60 years, before moving to Rockville many years ago. Richard was a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army during WWII, 1942-1946. He worked for 40 years as a lumber salesman and eventually sales manager at Somerville Lumber.
Richard is survived by his wife Shirley Schroeder (nee Weisleder), father of Diane & her husband James Macioce of Gaithersburg, MD., grandchildren Kristin Candy of Mt. Airy, MD, and Brian Macioce of Naples, FL., 5 great-grandchildren and his sister Anita Atwell of Lakeland, FL.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:30 am at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. Visiting hours will be Thursday morning from 10-11 am at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union, NJ.
