Richard L. Meatto, Sr., 72, of Florham Park, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, July 03, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center.
Richard was born on February 25, 1944 in Teaneck, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. and Anna F. (nee Avella) Meatto.
Richard worked as a teacher for South Plainfield Middle School for over 30 years before retiring. He coached basketball in South Plainfield for many years and was an avid sports fan. Richard loved rooting for Rutgers University with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Meatto in 2009. He is survived by his children; Richard L. Meatto, Jr. and his wife Angela and Amanda C. Meatto. He was the beloved grandfather of Richard and Ava Meatto. Richard is also survived by his sister, Lois Murray.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home., 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. An entombment will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamesburg, NJ In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Sepsis Alliance, 1855 First Avenue, Suite 102, San Diego, CA 92101.
