Richard Baumann

~~Richard Baumann, 84, of Madison, NJ passed away peacefully on August 12, 2015, after an extended illness.

Born in Newark NJ in 1930 to Conrad and Elizabeth Baumann, Richard was predeceased by Maria, his loving wife of 44 years, and siblings Edwin, Chester, Herbert, Lorraine, Evelyn, and Adelaide. Surviving are his children William, Mark (Maria), and Eric (Jennifer), as well as grandchildren Lori Ann and Zoe, and great-grandchildren Madison and James.

Richard graduated Central High School in Newark in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1950 – 1954, as a Drill Instructor and later F-86 Sabre Crew Chief. He was then employed by Pitney Bowes in NJ for 38 years until his retirement.

Richard’s passions included golf, fishing, woodworking, and art. He will be remembered for his dedication to family and his extraordinary sense of humor.

An informal memorial gathering and luncheon is planned for Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 1 to 4 PM at the Wyndham Hamilton Park Hotel in Florham Park, NJ. Guests may arrive any time during the event.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NJ chapter of the American Cancer Society or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
