Raymond Clifford Stumpf, Jr., 72, of Union, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Ackerman) Stumpf, children Karen and husband Richard Owen, Cheryl, and Edward and wife Gina (Wieger), two grandchildren; Ashley Owen and Raymond V. Stumpf, two great-grandsons; Treyshonn and Jaiden Palmer, along with his brother, Henry W. Stumpf and his wife M. Kay, aunt Ruth Elsman and many other family and friends. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Laura (Elsman) Stumpf.
Ray was born on September 30, 1939 and grew up in Newark, NJ. He was a member of the U. S. Coast Guard. He worked for Tenney Engineering, Union, NJ, and Chelsea Catering/Continental Airlines, Newark, NJ. Ray attended Maplewood Bible Chapel for the past 47 years where he was actively involved in youth groups, missions’ conferences, and meetings.
Ray enjoyed fishing, bowling, and a good chocolate chip cookie. Ray’s family was very important to him and he appreciated time spent with them whether on the go or at home.
