~~Perry H. Cooke, Jr. 95, of Roselle, NJ, passed peacefully on June 30, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Perry Sr. and Rosalie Cooke, he was raised in Washington, DC and in Newark, NJ, and later resided in Roselle for many years. Perry served proudly in the U.S. Army Field Artillery during World War II from 1942-1945, having landed on Omaha Beach during the Normandy campaign and having fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes before crossing the Rhine into Germany and helping to liberate a concentration camp. After the war he worked for Schlumberger/Weston Instruments in Newark, retiring in 1987 as a manufacturing engineer.

His faith and love of life were matched only by his patriotism and, especially, his generosity and devotion to his family.

Perry was pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years, Anna Louise Timo, his sister Evelyn, and his brother James. He is survived by his sons, David (Rosemary Bruno) and Allen, granddaughters, Alexis Bruno Leone and Francesca Bruno Cooke, a great-granddaughter, Aurora Perry Leone, sisters Jean Banta, Marie Baader, Marilyn Quail, and Denise Zeleniak, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Friday, July 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave. Summit, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Morris Ave., Summit, NJ. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
