Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bowen (nee: O’Toole), 87, a former resident of Setauket, New York, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Born in Brooklyn, New York. Peggy lived on Long Island for over 40 years, retiring to her weekend home in Sharon, Connecticut, where she spent 26 years. Peggy was a homemaker who, with her husband of 62 years, Vincent, raised 7 children, who were her greatest joy. Peggy was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling. She was an antique enthusiast and enjoyed volunteering as a docent at the Stony Brook Museum. Predeceased by her husband Vincent; Peggy is survived by her loving children, Peter and his wife Lori, Kevin and his wife Dorinda, Brendan and his wife Deborah, Deirdre and her husband Francis, Jacqueline and her husband Paul, Jeffrey and his wife Hilda, and Moira and her husband Matthew; beloved grandchildren Spencer and Claire, Jack, Sean, Meghan and Ryan, Maura, Andrew and Julia, Matthew, Liam and Henry, Patrick, and Sofia, Camille and Marguerite; cherished great grandchildren Madeline and Colton: and dear sister Gertrude. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 9:30am at St Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery, Summit. There will be a visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave., Summit.
