Pawel “Paul” Stryszak, 53, of Chatham, NJ, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on November 29, 2018.

Paul is survived by his wife of 16 years, Monisha Dey, two sons, Matthew & Simon, his parents, Wojciech and Helena Stryszak, brother, Michal Stryszak, and two nephews, Mikolai & August.

Born in Gdynia, Poland, Paul immigrated to Minnesota when he was 17 years old. He attended the University of Minnesota, where he obtained a Ph.D. in statistics in 1995. He then moved to New Jersey and lived in Chatham for the last 11 years. Paul worked at Merck as a principal scientist in biostatistics.

Paul loved hiking, mushroom hunting, cooking, and music. He passed on his love of music to his two sons. Paul was also a competitive swimmer in his youth, as are now his two sons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Chatham, NJ. Visiting hours will be on Friday, December 7, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name for cancer research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center may be made to: The De Rosa Foundation, 63 Rugby Rd., Manhasset, NY 11030.
