Patricia Warbasse

~~Patricia Owen Warbasse, 80, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 after a long illness.

She was born and raised in Greenwich, CT, the only child of Gladys and Raymond Owen.

She graduated from Vassar College and was a sales associate with IBM in New York, NY.

She married Warren Warbasse in 1958, and they eventually settled in Madison, NJ. She lived in that same house for more than 50 years. Patricia was a homemaker for many years before rejoining the workforce as a computer programmer with Prudential Insurance of America. She worked in the Roseland office for 14 years, retiring as an associate manager.

Patricia was well-known for her upbeat personality, poise, sense of humor and love of family. Some of her favorite pastimes were visiting family or, in her later years, talking to them on the phone.

Hobbies included gardening, needlework, and puzzles. She held leadership positions in the Madison AAUW serving as book sale co-chair and membership chair and as treasurer of the DAR. She was also involved with the Vassar Club of Northern New Jersey, the Colonial Dames of America and the Holland Dames.

Warren, her husband of 44 years, predeceased her. She is survived by her children Pamela Mansfield and her husband, Donn, of Chatham Township and Heidi Warbasse of Livingston and two grandsons, Andrew and Scott Mansfield.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 11:00 am, at the United Methodist Church, 24 Madison Avenue, Madison. A visitation will be at William Bradley Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham on Friday, Sept. 30th from 4 – 7 pm.
