~~Norma R. Ryan, 93, of Summit passed away on March 18th. A Memorial Service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 70 Maple St, Summit on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00am.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, Mrs. Ryan moved to Summit in 1954. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1942 with a BFA Degree in Design. In her early years, prior to raising her family, Mrs. Ryan worked as an artist in the fashion industry in NYC. She was a long time member of Central Presbyterian Church where she served as a Stephens Minister and volunteered at Overlook Hospital. Mrs. Ryan will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her family and caring spirit.
Mrs. Ryan was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Bernard Ryan. She was the loving mother of Karen Mathewson (Robert) and Lisa Stein (David). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Erin, Dana, Emily, and Kelly and her dear brother Frederic Rapell. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Ryan’s memory may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church.
