~~Nora Moen, 83, of Union passed away on October 10, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 411 Rutgers Ave in Hillside on Monday, October 16th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Born in County Kildare, Ireland, the daughter of Hugh and Nora Starrs, Nora was raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1950. First settling in Cranford, she had also lived in Westfield before moving in Union in 1986. Nora graduated from Holy Trinity High School and graduated summa cum laude from Kean College with a BA in Gerontology. A stay-at-home mom while also working as a beloved crossing guard, she later became an account executive with the Harvard Cleaning Company. Nora was a Girl Scout leader in Westfield and a longtime parishioner at Christ the King where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Maplewood Seniors. Nora loved to dance. She was trained as a highland dancer and taught international folk dancing at the German American Club in Yardville, NJ.

Nora was the beloved wife of Dr. Ragnar Moen. She was the loving mother of Dr. Eugene Marcantonio (Karen), Tricia Talbert (Tracy), Nancy Hecker (Paul) and James Marcantonio (Deborah). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Maria, Alex, Sarah, Matthew, Daniel (Mallory), Timothy, James, Jillian and her dear sister Mary Petrozziello. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nora’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1025 Pennsylvania Ave., Linden, NJ 07036.
