Nancy Jane Kerkhan (nee:Pew), 89, of Summit, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Born and raised in Newark, Nancy also lived in Maplewood for several years before settling in Summit in 1954. Nancy was a wonderful, dedicated homemaker. She did also assist her husband in the family jewelry and watchmaking business in Millburn, where she especially enjoyed bead stringing. She enjoyed Big Band music, cats, collecting dolls, and family vacations in Martha’s Vineyard and the Poconos, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Donald W. Kerkhan, and brother Jack Pew and his wife Frances; Nancy is survived by her son Donald and his wife Sherry, daughter Linda (Kerby) and son Glenn and his wife Kathy; and grandchildren Jesse, Kyle, Luke and James.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10 am at the Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home 309 Springfield Ave., Summit. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 5-9pm at the funeral home.
