Nancy B. Powell passed away peacefully on October 5, 2017 she was 79 years old. Predeceased by her husband Jack who passed away in 2015 she is survived by her daughter Laura Kamont and husband Eddy, son Rees and his wife Connie, granddaughters Nicole and Jessica and several nieces and nephews.
A woman whose roots came from Newport Pennsylvania made a life and a beautiful family in New Jersey. Together with her husband they created a beautiful family who shared passions such as boating, baseball & basketball to name a few. Any activity that brought their family together was something to be cherished. You would always be able to find her at one of Laurie or John’s sporting events.
Another one of her passions was her career as a nurse. For almost 40 years she was able to have a career that fulfilled her. She retired from Overlook Hospital in 1996 but was always proud to share her adventures in the ER and performing volunteer work in Haiti.
As a grandmother she never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren if it was Irish Step dance or a soccer game Nancy was there to cheer her granddaughters on. Boating with her husband was something that was a true family event and Nancy couldn’t wait to have her “girls” with her on the boat. St. Patrick’s Day was always a huge celebration in the Powell House and will never be the same without Nancy’s Corned Beef and Cabbage.
Nancy was not only a wife & mother, she was aunt, cousin, sister, friend and most important to me a mother in law, someone who I will love and miss all the days of my life! We will love you always.
