Mirek Batka

~~ Jaromir “Mirek” Batka, 77 passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017. Born in Czechoslovakia, Mirek came to the United States in 1971. Diligents and attentive as a young man, he learned the language and worked for his Uncle in the Tool & Die industry. With great determination, an industrious nature, and great perseverance he built Stamplus Manufacturing. With great passion he ran his company until the last day of his life. Although not Ukrainian, Mirek has been a devoted and generous servant of St. John the Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener, enjoying countless hours each year perfecting his craft.

A man of great kindness, Mirek is survived by his loving wife and greatest supporter, Luba Batka. Also surviving are brothers and sisters in law, and nieces and nephews, of the Czech Republic, as well as an army of friends including Joe and Mickey, Anthony and Karen, Joey and Rene, Christina, Bobby and Joy, Shawn and Gina, Kim and J.B. Also grieving the loss of an extraordinary friend is Mirek’s Stamplus work family who he loved and cared for so deeply.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 10am at St John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 North Jefferson Rd., in Whippany. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany.
