Michael Franciosa, passed away on January 30, 2021 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 92.
Born in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy on April 2, 1928, Michael came to America in 1956 and lived in Millburn, New Jersey. He worked for Ciba-Geigy in Summit, New Jersey for 35 years, before retiring in 1991. Michael and his wife Maria had strong and passionate ties to their Italian culture. He could often be found helping Maria with homemade Italian cooking, tending to his garden, and especially loved making his homemade wine to share with his family. Michael’s positive attitude and appreciation for the simple things in life, along with his warm smile, were contagious to all those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria; his son Michael Franciosa and his wife Suzanne; his daughter Anna Franciosa Pinto and her husband Tom; and five grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Caitlin and her husband Jared, Brianna, and Nicholas. Michael’s Italian traditions, life-lessons, and precious memories will be forever cherished by his loving family.
