Michael Creem – former Vice Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange and Artist

Michael Creem, a 47 year resident of Summit, NJ, and Westminster Park, NY passed away on October 24 at 85. Born in 1931, he was raised in Brooklyn and Manhasset NY. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and attended Yale College. Mr. Creem served in the military from 1951-1953 in the 820th Eng. Avn. Bn. SCARWAF. He was a partner and specialist in the firm Wagner Stott Mercator LLC and a member of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). During his professional career he was a Director of the NYSE (1981-1987) and Vice Chairman of the board from 1984-1986. He was a Director and Chairman of the New York Futures Exchange, also a Director of the Securities Industry Automation Corporation, and a President of the NYSE Specialist Association. In retirement, he co-founded the New Jersey Photography Forum.

He deemed himself a struggling landscape painter and competent photographer.

Michael Creem was the loving husband of the late Nancy K. Creem and is survived by daughters Julé Creem of Ashby MA and Siobhan Creem of Summit NJ.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit on November 13 at noon.
