Mary Theurer Johnson, 86, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.

Mary was born on September 14, 1927 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip and Elma (nee Blankenburg) Theurer.

A Chatham resident for over forty years, Mary was a member of the Newcomers Club where she met many of her dear friends. Mary was a graduate of Indiana University and was a sister of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed needlepoint.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Johnson, in 1980. She is survived by three children; Philip Johnson of Palo Alto, CA, daughters, Molly Johnson of Chatham, NJ, and Elizabeth Johnson Foley and husband Patrick of Chatham, NJ, and a sister, Jean Swisher of Indianapolis, IN. She was the grandmother to Jack and Kathryn Foley. She was predeceased by a son, David Michael Johnson and brother, David Theurer.

A visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Wm. A. Bradley & Son, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 300 Shunpike Road, Chatham, NJ 07928. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made In Memory of Mary to Chatham Emergency Squad, 45 Spring Street, Chatham, NJ 07928.
