Mary Rackowski, 90, of Toms River and formerly of Chatham passed away at the Community River Medical Center in Toms River on December 3rd.
Mrs. Rackowski was born in Newark and had lived in Chatham for 61 years before moving to Toms River in 2008. She was a secretary for Ciba-Geigy in Summit for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Rackowski was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church for 61 years where she was a member of the of the Rosary Society, Mother’s Guild and Legion of Mary. She was also active with the Chatham seniors and the Ciba-Geigy women’s Golf League.
Mrs. Rackowski was the beloved wife of the late John J. Rackowski. She was the loving mother of Anne M. Rackowski of Toms River and the late John C. Rackowski and his wife Sally, cherished grandmother of John Richard, Elizabeth, Catherine Mary and Patricia Rackowski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James and Joseph Beirne and sisters, Ann Mannix, Frances Mason, and Peg Ricciardi.
