Mary G. Morrison, of Madison, formerly of Summit, died at Overlook Hospital on February 23, 2013. She was 81.
Born and raised in Richmond Hill, NY, Mrs. Morrison was the youngest of 6 children. She lived briefly in Staten Island after her marriage before moving to Summit, where she lived for 31 years before relocating to Madison in 2000. She and her husband wintered in Sarasota, FL for over 15 years.
Before having children, Mrs. Morrison worked for Reynolds Securities in NYC, where she was the personal secretary to Mr. Reynolds.
Mrs. Morrison was a past member of St. Teresa’s in Summit and was currently a member of Corpus Christi Church in Chatham. She was also a member of Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit. She loved reading and traveling with her husband. They visited many spots in the US as well as Europe, Asia and Antarctica. She was a die-hard Mets fan enjoyed watching the NY football Giants on TV. She was very generous with her time and money to many local charities.
She was the beloved wife of 40 years to the late John Morrison. Loving mother of Kate Holland of New Providence, Tom and his wife Allie of Atlantic Highlands and Jim and his wife Jen of Chatham. Devoted grandmother of Cameron, Eva, Ian, Caitlin, Lola, Tatum and Harper. Cherished sister of Jim Graham of Lexington, VA and sister-in-law of Mary Graham of Scotch Plains and Jane Graham of Richmond Hill, NY. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who she cared for deeply.
