Marjorie Gabrielson Littlehale, 94, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2013. Born on October 19, 1918 in Mason City, Iowa, Marge was the oldest of three children of Emma Davis and Rush Gabrielson. She spent her growing up years in Crystal Lake, Iowa and moved to Forest City for high school. She graduated from Grinnell College in 1940 with a degree in English and Drama. Following college she moved east and spent the rest of her life in New Jersey. Initially living with her aunt and uncle at their home, Crowndale, in Bernardsville, Marge moved to Greenwich Village after getting a job with AT&T in New York,


Her marriage to Bradner McPherson Littlehale took place in 1943 at Crowndale. Their first home was in Cranford where she was a member of the Junior League and where her two children were born. In 1949 the couple moved to Chatham and it remained their home for 63 years. In Chatham she was a den leader and president of the girl scouts. Gardening, both perennials and vegetables, was a passion as was bird watching, bridge and going to New York with her theater group. Marge was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Drugg, her brother Robert and in 2012 by her husband.


She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the matriarch of the family, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne O’Malley and her husband, Dennis of Long Valley, New Jersey, and her son, Brad Jr. and his wife, Linda of Dover, Massachusetts, four grandchildren, John Cramer IV of Spicewood, Texas, Aimee Rockwood of Austin, Texas, Brad Littlehale III and Walker Littlehale of Dover, Massachusetts and four great grandchildren, Devon, Zachary, Jasmine and Cypress. A Celebration of Life will be held for the family at a later date.
