Maria Piedad Gavilanes, 86, of Orlando Florida, formerly of Jersey City, died Nov. 10, 2011 at Overlook Hospital.
Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador Maria came to the U.S. in l964 originally settling in Queens. She lived in Jersey City for 30 years before retiring to Orlando 12 years ago.
Surviving are her husband Luis, daughters Libia Proano and Martha Medina, her son Luis, and their spouses, as well as 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by her son Jose A.
