Margaret T. Stewart “Peggy”, 90, of Paterson, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Peggy was a longtime resident of Paterson, born and raised on Grand Street, and moving to East 24th Street upon marrying her husband Joseph in 1953. She was a bookkeeper for Inter City Bus Co., and Fairclough Oil Company, both in Paterson, until her retirement in the late 70’s. Peggy enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially for her grandchildren, bowling and shopping.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Stewart, brother James Gallagher, and sister Mary K. Gallagher; Peggy is survived by her sons James and his wife Elizabeth, Joseph F. Jr., and his wife Julie; grandchildren Catherine, Owen, Patrick, Sean and Ryan; sister Anita Rhodes and niece Susan Searles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10am at St Patrick’s Church, corner of Washington Ave. and Chatham St., in Chatham. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. There will be a visitation on Friday from 6-9pm at the Wm. A Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham.
