Margaret M. Benitez-Rivera, affectionately known as Margie, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2017, in the arms of her beloved cousin, Roberto Benitez in Morristown Memorial Hospital, NJ. Margie was born on May 4, 1954 and raised in the Bronx, NY. Margie went on to graduate from Fordham University (Bronx), receiving her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Business. She lived in Cedar Knolls, NJ and most recently Wharton, NJ with her closest family, her faithful Shitzu dogs, Ziva and Abby. While working full-time at AT&T as an Accounts Receivable Manager, Margie also pursued and received her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Margie touched so many lives by her generosity, kindness, and love, as well as that huge smile of hers and the warming bear hugs she gave everyone she greeted. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, dancing, painting, music and seeing Broadway shows. Margie especially loved her family and the many friends whose lives she enriched.
Margie was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph Rivera of 10 years and survived by many cousins and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 1-3 PM at the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ. A celebration of Margie’s life will follow at 3PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a Go-Fund (https://www.gofundme.com/wzxzs6-for-the-love-of-margie ) account has been established for Margie’s family to cover expenses.
