Mafalda D. Ranese, 97, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Overlook Hospital.
Mafalda was born on February 24, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Constantino and Josephine (nee Annunziata) Maresca.
Mafalda resided in Phoenix, AZ for over 25 years with her late husband Thomas. She enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to Atlantic City. She was a member of the Italian Board of Guardians and a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, Chatham, NJ.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Ranese. She was the beloved mother of son, Thomas and his wife Lillian. She was the cherished grandmother of Thomas Ranese (Brian Jackson) and Lenore Hoffman ( Kenneth) and great-grandmother of Daniel, Cole, and Jeremy Hoffman. She is also survived by her sister-in-law; Julia.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home., 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Avenue, Chatham, NJ 07928.An interment will follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in Mafalda’s name.
