Lucile G. Tafaro, 89, of Chatham, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Newark, she was raised In Bloomfield, she lived in Summit for about 30 years before moving to Chatham Township in 1984.
She graduated from Barringer High School in Newark and the Berkeley School.
Lucile was a member of the Rosary Society at St Teresa’s Church in Summit, and the Christ Child Society. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary in Summit, as well as a volunteer at Overlook Hospital and the Morris Museum.
Predeceased by her husband Robert B. Tafaro, she is survived by her children Susan T. Quick, Lois T. Monti, Robert B. Tafaro, Jr., Claudia T. Bush, Stephen N. Tafaro, and Nicholas R. Tafaro; and nine grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 22,2012 at 10:45am at St Teresa of Avila Church 306 Morris Ave., in Summit. Entombment will follow at St Teresa’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Summit. There will be a visitation on Monday from 4-8pm at the Wm A Bradley Funeral Home 345 Main Street in Chatham.
