Louise C. Hanbicki, 78, of Mountainside passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on April 5th. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 304 Central Ave, Mountainside, on Thursday, April 11th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, in Springfield on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Louise married the love of her life. Together they lived in Somerville, Vienna, Virginia, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa before returning to reside in Mountainside in 1974. While raising her children, she worked as an Office Manager for a local business until her retirement in 2010. Louise was a long time parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes. She traveled extensively, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was an inspiration to her grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by them and all of her family and friends. .


Louise was the beloved wife of 54 years to Edward. She was the loving mother of Theresa Schmedel (Rich) and Edward III, (Susie Maxwell). She was also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, Jonathan, and Christopher, step grandson, Cassidy, dear brother, Raymond Maragni (Grace), and dear sister, Linda Casella (Tony). Her daughter Lorraine died previously. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise’s memory may be made to the Lorraine K. Lucarelli Scholarship Fund, c/o Governor Livingston High, 175 Watchung Blvd., Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.
