Louis J Meade passed away peacefully on March 22, 2015 in Chatham, NJ at the age of 91.
He attended St. Bonaventure College after serving in the Army Air Force in India during WWII. He proudly served 20 years as a New York City Policeman and later as an Inspector for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. Best remembered for his Bravery and Dedication to his fellow man, he was always the first to help in any situation. His children recall the many times he rushed in to save someone drowning or in some other peril. He was ever vigilant wherever he was. After moving from Brooklyn NY to Chatham NJ to retire he made many good friends and enjoyed playing tennis at local Clubs. He will be so dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Meade nee Demm, his 5 children Liz Meade, Louis Meade Jr., Mark Meade, Margaret Meade-Hariri, Robert Hariri. John Meade and his fiancé Lisa Wesolowski. Grandchildren: Lauren Meade, Shaun Meade, Alexandra Hariri, Jack Hariri, Haley Hariri and Kyra Ernst. Louis was born on August 17, 1923 in Neponsit, Queens, to Captain John P Meade USMM and Elizabeth Meade nee Skelly. Predeceased are his siblings John Meade and Dorothy Meade.
A Memorial Mass will be held 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Church, 85 Washington Avenue, Chatham, NJ 07928.
