Lillian Brooks Johnston

~~Lillian Brooks Johnston, 89, recently of Union, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016. Born in Montclair, the daughter of William and Marie Brooks, Lillian was raised in East Orange, and lived in South Orange for 65 years. Lillian was a member of her grade school sorority “Delta Epsilon” for 75 years.

Predeceased by her son Richard D. Johnston; sister Margaret Brooks Edmonston; and brother John W. Brooks. Lillian is survived by her son James W. Johnston; daughter Susan Johnston Lowe; nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Betty Novak.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4-8pm at the Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home at 11am on Thursday for the procession to Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, where a graveside service will be held.
