~~Lia Raabis, (Kuldvere), 92 of Summit, NJ, passed peacefully on April 21, 2017. Born in Estonia, she lived in New York before moving to Summit 30 years ago. Lia was a Senior Scientist for Ciba-Geigy in Summit for over 25 years, retiring many years ago. Lia is predeceased by her husband Arnold Raabis and her sister and brother in law, Dr. Mara and Dr. Harry Koello. She is survived by her two sons, Toivo and his wife Karen, Edward and his wife Jane, granddaughters Dr. Sarah M. Raabis, Kristen M. Raabis and Katie A. Raabis, nieces and nephews; Peter Koello and his wife Arleen, Mart Koello, Anna Moore and her husband Thomas and Robert Koello, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Lia loved going to concerts and operas. She also was a talented artist creating many beautiful water color paintings that she shared with family and friends. Lia’s most important joy in life was her family. She cherished her time with her family spending summers on Sound Beach, Long Island New York, trips to Wells Beach, Maine and visiting her granddaughters in Michigan and Massachusetts. She was especially proud of her three granddaughters and all their accomplishments.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm, ending with a Prayer Service at 3 pm at the Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave., Summit, NJ.
Interment will be private.
