~~Kenneth A. Holzer, 75, died November 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family in Whippany, NJ. Funeral services are private.
Born and raised in Kearny, NJ, the son of Albert and Elsie (Johnson) Holzer, Ken was a graduate of Kearny High School in 1958. He and his wife Julie lived in Lyndhurst, North Arlington and West Orange before moving to Whippany in 1977 to raise their family. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1963, Ken was a Director of Information Systems at The Prudential Insurance Co. in both Newark and Roseland, from where he retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. During his younger years, Ken enjoyed summers with his parents and brother at their summer home at Shore Acres in Bricktown, NJ. In more recent years, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and vacationing to Flye Point ME, Port St. Lucie FL, and Nantucket MA.
Ken was the beloved husband of 48 years to Julie. He was the loving father of Craig K. Holzer and wife Megan, and Guy K. Holzer and wife Mary. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Katherine, Avery and William and his brother Arthur W. Holzer and wife Margaret Schmidt.
